Alila Hotels & Resorts will launch three new properties this fall, increasing the Bali-based group’s portfolio of boutique character hotels to twelve. The design-focused hotel group, which abides by strict eco-conscious guidelines, has 19 total projects in development, all scheduled to open before 2018.
The first property to launch, the 5-star Alila Seminyak, is located on Bali’s southwest beaches on the ‘trendy’ side of Seminyak, offering easy access to high-end boutiques, art galleries and nightclubs. Designed to evoke natural sophistication, the 240-suite hotel (comprised of standard rooms, suites and a penthouse) will be connected by organic gardens through an extensive labyrinth of vertical greens, leafy shrubs and blossoming plants, according to a hotel release. Alila Seminyak will be the group’s fifth property on Bali.
Alila Seminyak is the first resort in Indonesia to surpass the rigorous EarthCheck standards, achieving a 44-point best practice score against the industry norm of five points. The resort’s eco and energy solutions include the use of local and recyclable building materials, operating completely paperless and using their own bottled water. In addition, low energy light fixtures, rainwater harvesting, solar energy, environmental and building management systems have been implemented. Room rates start from USD $265++ per night based on two people sharing.
The 255-suite Alila Solo, the second Alila property to open this September, will be located at the gateway of Solo close to the artistic hub of Java. Designed to combine the atmosphere of Solo’s thriving artistic scene with the natural landscape of Java, the modern urban hotel will feature four ‘Alila suites’ with individual terraces and swimming pools, a rooftop terrace bar with panoramic views of the city, from the temples and volcanoes through to the surrounding jungle, and an on-site restaurant serving authentic Indonesia food with a modern European twist.
The resort plans to cater to business and leisure travelers alike, incorporating a spa, MICE facilities and a Kids’ Club into its plan. Room Rates start from US$90++ per night based on two people sharing, putting the hotel squarely in the middle of Java’s $70-130 per night average for 5-star hotels, based on rates published by Lonely Planet.
Alila Anji, the final property to open this fall, is Alila’s first project in China. The collection of 74 suites and one-bedroom villas are located in the heart of the Zhejiang province, site of the Oscar-winning movie ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.’ The first Spa Alila in China will feature seven treatment rooms and a menu of health, beauty and restorative treatments, including traditional Chinese Medicine. Room rates start from US$320++ per night based on two people sharing. Alila Anji is the first of ten properties that Alila will open in China by 2017.
