Past meets present in SIXTY Hotels’ revival of the Nautilus South Beach, paying homage to the original spirit of its 1950s heyday, according to its website, while incorporating an international vibe reflective of modern day Miami.
Set in the heart of Miami’s Art Deco district, the 250-room luxury boutique hotel will evoke a “luxe beach house” vibe, calling to mind an 8-story, amenity-rich European dacha. Aside from direct beach access, an outdoor heated pool, 24-hour fitness center and 24-hour in-room dining, the Morris Lapidis-designed project will also restore the architect’s famous “stairway to nowhere.”
After minor delays and hesitant announcements about its food & beverage plans, the Nautilus will definitively open on July 6.
The signature restaurant, reportedly run by China Grill, will boast a yet-unnamed celebrity chef.
